The Simpsons Classic Best Badger Hair Shaving Brush is a smaller format shaving brush designed to fit into a Simpsons Travel tube, allowing you to be away from home with no compromise on your shaving! Packed full of Best Badger Hair this brush will provide many years of faithful service as well as going a long way to helping you achieve the perfect shave. The Classic is a great performer with the added advantage of a Travel Tube to accommodate journeys etc. This luxury shaving brush will exfoliate the skin and lift and soften the beard prior to shaving. A dense loft of excellent grade Best Badger hair which provides a firm yet soft brush perfect for both soaps and creams and good exfoliation of the skin prior to shaving. The loft has fabulous water retention to ensure a luxurious lather. A substantial handle, straight in design with stylish turned rings around the mid-point and towards the base. The base has a subtle flare to perfectly finish off the classic look. The handle is lathe turned pure resin with a 'faux ivory' finish reminiscent of the most traditional of shaving brushes. The Classic is available in two model (CL1 & CL2) with the CL2 model having an extra ring turned around the mid point. Simpsons have been making handmade shaving brushes in England since 1919, they fully deserve their reputation as the world's premier shaving brush manufacturers.

How to use

The brush bristles should be wet (not soaking) before use. Load the loft with soap or cream and apply to the areas to be shaved, using a strong circular motion. This softens the hairs and also raises them ready for shaving.

We strongly recommend the following aftercare for your brush; When finished always rinse the brush under hot water (especially at the base of the bristles) to remove any remaining soap residue which can result in damage to the bristle and cause early shedding of the loft. The brush should then be stored loft facing down to dry. This can be achieved by using a shaving brush stand and prevents the bristles rotting at the base due to moisture.

Both shaving creams and shaving soaps and all skin types.

Grooming tip

Always Store your shaving brush with the loft/bristles poiting down, to allow excess moisture to drain away naturally. This prevents damage caused by damp and helps to extend the life of your brush.

Excellent Brush

Lovely well made badger brush. Very dense and holds a lot of water. It's a bit small for some people but for me it's the perfect size. Not too small, not too big. The hair is very soft and the handle very well made.

Simpsons Classic 1 : the big mini

The brush arrived in France after 5 working days. The delivery was tracked and required signature. The package kept the items in perfect condition. The Classic is quite small brush : Knot : 22mm Loft : 41mm Total height : 81mm But thanks to a very densely packed knot, this brush produces a very good lather. The strong backbone is also welcomed for face lathering. It allows a good exfoliation and prevents to put lather where it is not expected. Due to its small dimensions, the Classic 1 is compatible with the Simpsons Case Travel Tube New Style. To sum up, I am more than happy of the Classic 1 since I can't expect more of a brush.

Simpsons classic 2 shaving brush

Arrived very quickly and well packaged. Maguires listed dimensions for the brush are incorrect, the brush's knot width is 24mm with a loft height of 42mm which is what I was expecting them to be. I don't know where they got their measurements from but they're wildly inaccurate. And the handle dimensions are listed inaccurately too. I purchased from maguires because they were the cheapest but their product information needs changing. Other than that very pleased.

Probably the best Simpsons brush

I have wanted a Classic 2 for sometime as I love it's look and legendary performance, but I could not find a UK stockist until I came across Maguire's; and I was not disappointed. My brush is probably more dense than my Chubby 2 Best, which is saying something. The size of the Classic is perfect for me and the handle sits very comfortably in your hand. I have 10 Simpson brushes and this is in my top two (along with the Chubby). In fact this is so good I have sold my Simpson Case and am going to sell my Duke 2 and Tulip 1. The knot performed right out the box and has not needed any really braking in. I would add that the Classic 2 I have is definitely a face latherer due to its sorter loft, although Simpson brush will vary due to the hand made nature of the product. Finally the service from Maguire's was fantastic. I attached a comment to my order requesting a specific knot shape and they picked one out that suited my requirements. Also the price is significantly lower than anywhere else that sells this model. The measurements of my brush are: Knot: 24mm Loft: 42mm Total Height: 82mm If you like Simpson brushes, you need one of these.
