Product Overview

OMEGA 10049 100% Pure Bristle Shaving Brush (Available in either Red, White or Black)

Product

The OMEGA 10049 AKA the Classic no. 49 Professional shaving brush is available in a trio of colours. Available with Red, Black or White plastic handles topped with black collar. Branded with the Omega logo on the handle, it features the renowned Omega pure bristle loft. A great looking brush with excellent performance. Made in Italy.

NB. Please state colour required when buying this item.

How to use

The brush bristles should be wet (not soaking) before use. Load the loft with soap or cream and apply to the areas to be shaved, using a strong circular motion. This softens the hairs and also raises them ready for shaving.

We strongly recommend the following after care for your brush; When finished always rinse the brush under hot water (especially at the base of the bristles) to remove any remaining soap residue which can result in damage to the bristle and cause early shedding of the loft. The brush should then be stored loft facing down to dry. This can be achieved by using a shaving brush stand and prevents the bristles rotting at the base due to moisture.

Recommended for

Both shaving creams and shaving soaps and all skin types.

Grooming tip

All shaving brushes need to be 'broken-in' and this is achieved simply by using the brush. The more it is used, the more the hairs will soften and split at the ends to create a softer tip

    Great Boar Brush

This is a fantastic boar brush. My third boar brush and definitely the best. Breaks in quickly and makes a great lather easily. Great value for money and excellent service from Maguires

    Omega Pro '49 Lather Machine

Posted by Jason Pipe on 9th Nov 2017

I have a number of brushes, some good for soft soaps, some for hard soaps, or creams...This brush will lather anything equally well, has a big easy to grip handle, and costs less than £10. It may not be much to look at, but if I had to pick just one brush to use from this point forward, then I would reach for this, without a second thought.

    A beast of a brush

Posted by Steve R on 22nd Jan 2014

First things first; this is a big brush but that is no bad thing as it means that out of the box it is fairly soft, especially when compared to other Omega brushes like the 10077 with its much shorter loft. If you're looking for a brush that is fairly firm on the face then this probably isn't the brush for you, but if you're looking for a brush that builds copious amounts of lather with both soaps and creams and isn't at all scritchy then look no further. At £8.99 this brush is a steal.

    Another excellent bristle brush

Posted by Ferrum on 31st Oct 2013

Having always viewed bristle brushes as cheap and nasty alternatives to badger, I have recently been converted to using them with soaps like Ogallala Bay Rum and Mitchells Wool Fat. This brush takes a bit of use to get it to smell nice, but is beginning to "break in". It produces and holds a good lather, and I have high hopes for it in the future.
