Product Overview

Proraso Shaving Soap Pot Sandalwood - 150ml

Product

Enriched with sandalwood, shea butter and glycerin, this classic shaving soap effectively softens the skin and prepares it for a comfortable shave.

Made in Italy.

How to use

Product can be used directly from pot and simply work the top of the soap with a wet (not soaking) shaving brush until the bristles are 'loaded' with shaving soap. Now apply the soap to the areas to be shaved, using  the shaving brush in a strong circular motion. This softens the hairs and also raises them ready for shaving. When finished briefly rinse the top of the soap and shake excess water off before replacing the top.

Recommended for

Formula Emolliente (softening) - suitable to thick, coarse hair.

Grooming Tip

A stiffer brush, such as bristle, works better with a shaving soap whilst shaving creams can be used with a softer brush such as badger. This is due to the 'effort' needed to create the lather.

NO PARABENS – NO SILICONE – NO MINERAL OILS – NO SLS

Brand Information

Proraso

Proraso was born and raised in beautiful Florence in the 1920's and still resides there today. Proraso products have loyally served three generations of well-groomed Italian men, and now MAGUIRE'S Barbershop offers you the chance to be the first generation of your family to enjoy them! Enjoying the reputation as one of Italy's most venerable barber shop shaving brands, for 90 years Proraso has guarded its secret formula based on Eucalyptus Oil and, in a way that only a small family owned Italian business can, the recipe has been passed down from one generation to the next.

    Good product

Posted by Jim Needham on 17th Sep 2014

In texture this Proraso is somewhere between a soap and a cream, but better to be treated as a soap. I used it with a badger brush and got excellent results with it: very good lather & enough for a second pass, if you wish. At the same time of purchasing this product, I also bought a Semogue bristle brush (in fact, I have since bought another one); results with this were not as good, and I found I needed to re-soap the brush if I wanted a second pass. It could be that I have not allowed sufficient time to 'break in' these bristle brushes, so, for now, I'm going to reserve judgement on them.
