Product Overview

Timor 1321 Double Edge (DE) Safety Razor - Gun Metal

Product

The Timor 1321 Safety Razor is a closed comb butterfly action, TTO (twist to open) system which allows quick and safe blade replacement. The razor itself is brass with a 'gun metal' grey finish. A great looking, lightweight safety razor that delivers a precise shave. The Timor Safety Razors take any standard double edge (DE) razor blade.

Made by Giesen & Forsthoff (Solingen)

How to Use

The Razor head covers are opened by unscrewing the base of handle. The covering heads then fold open to reveal the blade. Insert any standard double edge razor blade over the slots and screw the base to close the head covers. It's that simple and then you are ready to go!

Recommended for

All skin types.

Grooming Tip

Always rinse excess soap and stubble off your razor after use to prevent a stubborn build-up of residue. This protects your razor and ensures it is ready to go for your next shave without any further prep.

    cool razor

Posted by Colin on 29th Jun 2023

Changed to de shaving. Wanted a razor like the old Gillette of the 50s. The Timor was a cheap option. However it does shave well and has an easy mechanism for changing blades. I have to get used to using minimal pressure as opposed to the Mach 3 I have been using for many years. I hope to save a lot of money this way and I recommend this razor to all those wanting to get back to pleasure shaving.

    Good return to traditional shaving

A great value butterfly action razor for returning to traditional shaving. Very good gunmetal finish on razor and well built although slight rattle on mechanism. Gives a good shave and an excellent price from Maguires although I was a bit dissapointed to find that there was no free pack of Astra blades as advertised on website

    a) brilliant razor for any relative newbie - relatively easy to quickly learn the optimum shaving angle b) brilliant size also, giving, I think, a closer degree of control c) gun metal finish looks amazing, and really good medium weight Overall, provides, for me, a very low stress shave, of medium aggression level. And amazing value from Maguires, well done

    A year on........

Twelve months down the line and this razor is still doing fine. As a daily shaver I have found that a 'mild' DE tends to suit me better overall, and the Timor has its regular place in rotation. Don't be put off by the (seemingly) low cost of this razor: it is very well built; and I would even go as far to say that, performance-wise, it is every bit as good as my vintage 1966 Gillette Slim adjustable - which, btw, I've had from new!

    Good starting point

Posted by Jim Needham on 15th Nov 2014

This is a very pleasant razor, light in weight, and a handle length that is erring on the short side of 'normal'. The blade angle is mild which requires a slightly more acute angle on the face. Some folk find this a bit awkward at first, but once you have got used to it, the result is a nice, close, comfortable shave. Being a butterfly type of razor (TTO) blade-changing is very straightforward. All in all, this is a perfect razor for anyone starting out in wet shaving; or, indeed, for anyone wanting an occasional change from a more aggressive razor. And the gunmetal finish is something a little bit different from the rest. Recommended!
