The German quality really shows through on this great value for money razor! If you are looking for a straight style razor, want something that is a bit more weighty and high quality than a Dovo Shavette but don't want the full hassle of strops, pastes, stones and honing then this is a great option. This razor seems to sit nicely between the low cost shavette razors that take standard DE blades and the top end of the Feather Artist range. Note that the Tondeo does use proprietary blades - defined by two circular holes that keep the blade true in the razor.

Gives a very enjoyable close shave. Beautiful, simple, well-made. The Tondeo TCR blades, also made in Germany, are of very high quality. Do not be deceived by the relatively low price of this razor compared to a traditional straight or a Feather 'Artists Club' open razor. I also possess a Thiers-Issard Spartacus which is a lovely razor - but for sharpness and convenience I find that it's the Tondeo razor that I come back to every day.
